Density of states in the reciprocal lattice for a one-dimensional periodic Heisenberg magnet

چکیده
2014 A general formula for the number of linearly independent states from (2 s + 1)N-dimensional Hilbert space for a linear chain of N spins s corresponding to a wave number k has been derived. As shown, this density is inhomogeneous within the Brillouin zone, and its shape depends on the decomposition of N into prime factors. It proves that non all elementary excitations in a Heisenberg magnet can be adequately described in terms of quasiparticles, and in particular, they not necessarily exhibit a band structure. J. A New Subdomain Method for Performances Computation in Interior Permanent-Magnet (IPM) Machines
In this research work, an improved two-dimensional semi-analytical subdomain based method for performance computation in IPM machine considering infinite-/finite-magnetic material permeability in pseudo-Cartesian coordinates by using hyperbolic functions has been presented. In the developed technique, all subdomains are divided into periodic or non-periodic regions with homogeneous or non-homog...
متن کاملTime-Dependent Real-Space Renormalization Group Method
In this paper, using the tight-binding model, we extend the real-space renormalization group method to time-dependent Hamiltonians. We drive the time-dependent recursion relations for the renormalized tight-binding Hamiltonian by decimating selective sites of lattice iteratively. The formalism is then used for the calculation of the local density of electronic states for a one dimensional quant...
متن کاملEffective One-Dimensional Coupling in the Highly Frustrated Square-Lattice Itinerant Magnet CaCo_{2-y}As_{2}.
Inelastic neutron scattering measurements on the itinerant antiferromagnet CaCo_{2-y}As_{2} at a temperature of 8 K reveal two orthogonal planes of scattering perpendicular to the Co square lattice in reciprocal space, demonstrating the presence of effective one-dimensional spin interactions. These results are shown to arise from near-perfect bond frustration within the J_{1}-J_{2} Heisenberg m...

Resonating valence bond (RVB) states are suitable candidates for ground state of the Heisenberg model on various two dimensional lattices. When a singlet valence bond is broken to produce a triplet state, the resulting excitation is called a triplon. In this paper, we obtain formulas for the overlap and also matrix elements of si.sj operator between states with arbitrary number of triplons . ...
متن کاملTight- binding study of electronic band structure of anisotropic honeycomb lattice
The two-dimensional structure of graphene, consisting of an isotropic hexagonal lattice of carbon atoms, shows fascinating electronic properties, such as a gapless energy band and Dirac fermion behavior of electrons at fermi surface. Anisotropy can be induced in this structure by electrochemical pressure. In this article, by using tight-binding method, we review anisotropy effects in the elect...
